Workshop Description

This workshop gives you a detailed overview of technical and functional issues of Oracle R12 Upgrade that you need to take into account when planning an upgrade or reimplementation to Oracle Applications Release 12. 

This workshop discusses absolutely everything you need to consider in planning your migration to Oracle R12, from hardware requirements, planning, and conversion strategies to configuration, user adoption and documentation to support the upgrade. You will create a plan for your upgrade to take back to your organization and jump start your project.

Workshop Overview

By the end of the course you will:
  • Understand Oracle R12's functional & technical architecture
  • Understand Oracle R12, common essential features
  • Know how to evaluate infrastructure, installation, configuration, training, customizations, data conversion, user adoption, support, and hosting, options that accompany an Oracle R12 Upgrade
  • Plan resources, approaches, durations, reporting, etc.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills:
  • Implementation or project management experience a plus, but not required.

  DAY 3 

  • Discussing selected New Features in Oracle Release 12
    • Oracle Financials
  • Evaluating reporting options based on your needs
  • Discussing business Intelligence options for the Oracle E-Business Suite R12

  DAY 4 

  • Planning for the Oracle R12 upgrade:
    • How to plan your R12 implementation team
    • The type of personnel and skill sets you need to deploy Oracle R12
    • Supporting an Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 environment during & after go live
    • Predicting the duration of an R12 upgrade
      • Pre-Upgrade Tasks
      • Post-Upgrade Tasks
  • Oracle R12 Upgrade Best Practices
    • Understanding the different ways to approach an Oracle R12 upgrade, re-implement, patching or reinstalling?
    • Advantages, tricks, key success factors tied to each option
